Conditions of Sale

  • To order products from this website, you must be aged 18 years or above.
  • We strongly recommend that you place a request for a sample of your chosen fabric prior to ordering it in specified lengths. Please note we do NOT accept returns of fabrics cut to order (this does not affect your statutory rights).
  • Once you have placed an order, an email will be sent to you to confirm all relevant details.
  • We recommend that you check the stock continuity of an item prior to placing an order if you are likely to require more of the fabric at a later date. Please bear in mind that dye lots, embroidery variations and hand weaving can all contribute to differences between batches.
  • Every effort is made to ensure that fabric supplied is as per your sample, however we do reserve the right to supply fabrics from alternative batches.
  • In the unlikely event we cannot fulfil an order for which you have been charged, a refund will be issued and the buyer notified.
  • Out of stock items may take up to 10 weeks to supply, in this event we will advise you of more precise delivery times and alternative options.
  • We reserve the right to refuse a transaction.
  • Prices on this website are shown excluding VAT. VAT will be added at the checkout, depending on your location.



  • We have taken every precaution to ensure the product images displayed on our site represent the cloth as best we can. However these images should be considered as illustrative only and are not an exact representation of the product concerned.
  • Each product is carefully examined prior to dispatch. Please check your fabric upon receipt.
  • No claim will be entertained once fabric has been used or cut in any way or in any production process.
  • All our silk fabrics come with a dry clean only recommendation unless otherwise specified
  • If you are uncertain of cleaning instructions for your purchase please contact us for advice.
  • Silk is a natural fibre. This fabric is often hand spun, dyed and woven and it may be subject to slight weave, width and colour variations within commercial tolerances. These are inherent characteristics of this fabric and are not considered as faults.
  • On rare occasions we may need to supply an ordered amount in two (or more) pieces due to stock availability. We will always contact the customer beforehand to check how to best work this out for their needs.



Liability shall not pass to the seller if the buyer enters an incorrect shipping address. All charges in relation to an incorrect shipping address shall pass to the buyer.


Standard delivery (DHL)

  • Liability shall not pass to the seller in the event of any delay caused by the delivery agent used.
  • We endeavour to despatch orders within two to three working days of receipt.
  • We use a ‘signed for’ next day service when despatching orders. Please ensure someone is available to receive and sign for your order.
  • If you are not in at the time of delivery a calling card will be left for you to arrange another delivery. Alternatively the driver may attempt a second delivery the following working day. If you are not in on a second delivery attempt, or you do not contact the delivery agent the goods will be returned to us and you will be notified. To have goods re-delivered will cost the same as the first delivery. We cannot be held responsible if you are not in for delivery or fail to rearrange a delivery date with our delivery agent.
  • Alternative delivery methods are available upon request, but only with our consent.


Free Shipping For Samples (Royal Mail 1st Class)

  • Liability shall not pass to the seller in the event of any package lost in transit or undelivered.
  • Packages sent using this service are not tracked or insured for loss or damage.
  • We endeavour to despatch orders within two working days of receipt.

Returns policy

  • Please note we do NOT accept returns of fabrics that have been cut to order. We recommend ordering samples prior to purchase of cut lengths.
  • Returns and exchanges are only at our discretion.
  • When returning or exchanging goods, the buyer must inform us prior to dispatching the goods.
  • We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee on all items returned, if a return is authorised.
  • Returned / exchange goods must be sent via a ‘signature required’ delivery method to confirm receipt, as title for ownership shall remain with the buyer until such time. Once we have received the goods we shall process any necessary replacement or refund.
  • No claim will be entertained once fabric has been used or cut in any way or in any production process.

International Customers

  • Since the UK left the EU, VAT is no longer charged to our EU customers by the UK government on orders leaving the country, as has always been the case with international orders. The price quoted on the site is the price you will pay.
  • All export orders come with a liability to the customer to pay any and all local import charges and taxes.
  • The main change for EU customers is that you may be liable to pay import taxes and customs fees on your order.
  • This is not a charge we set or are involved in collecting, it is set by your government at their rates and collected on their behalf by the delivering courier in your country.
  • If you have any queries regarding this, they need to be directed towards your Customs Department.
  • Top Fabric will not declare any false indication on the customs forms to avoid or reduce these fees.
